Mother Africa Welcomes Paul Hubbard
Paul Hubbard is a Professional Archeologist, Historian, Tour Guide and has now joined The Mother Africa Trust as Project Manager. Paul brings to the position immense love and understanding of Zimbabwe’s culture, history and different environments. When asked to comment on his new title, Paul replied; “the easiest answer is that I love my country, Zimbabwe, and in any way I can, I want to help it’s people lead better lives. The Mother Africa Trust, with its combination of volunteer-driven tourism and donor support for various projects seemed to be a great way to work towards this goal. How could I resist when it combined so many of my own interests and passions?” Resident in Bulawayo, although you are more likely to find him working in the Matobo Hills, Paul has a varied career including farmer, University Lecturer, Writer and Heritage Consultant, he brings to the position great enthusiasm and passsion about the three areas that fall under his responsibility – the Matobo Hills, Hwange and Bulawayo.
A diverse portfolio of projects have been identified in each area that combine conservation, eduction and development needs and it is Paul’s responsiblity to shepherd them to their full fruition. A daunting task perhaps, but with the support of the Trusts and its associates, Paul is confident that the future is bright…. and will be productive.
