Mother Africa
is delighted to announce we are working in conjunction with the
Mabula Ground Hornbill Conservation Project.
This organisation
is spearheading the conservation program of the southern Ground
Hornbill in South Africa and our aim is to establish and mirror
their work in Zimbabwe. Mother Africa volunteers will begin this
project through the construction of nesting boxes, and by supplying
these to landowners.

An awareness
campaign around the vulnerable status of the ground hornbill will
be part and parcel of this initiative. Once this aspect is established
we hope to extend our program to mirror that of the Mabula Ground
Hornbill Conservation group, from hand rearing chicks to research,
focusing on diet and distribution as well as much more.
It's
an exciting and hope filled time for the Southern Ground Hornbill!
